Abstract:

The first sweetest world in the world is Mother. Love is the most precious feeling in living beings. The most adorable thing in the life of a human being is getting unconditional and priceless ‘Mother’s Love’. It is possible to get anything from any person through Love. PREMATHO (in the Telugu Language) means with love. The acronym of PREMATHO is Positive Emotions, Relations, Engagement, Mindfulness, Accomplishment, Truthfulness, Heartfulness, and Open Minded. It is a new model of well-being for a happy and healthy life. Education is a key for all types of well-being, viz., Moral Well-Being, Spiritual Well-Being, Existential Well-Being, Psychological Well-Being, Developmental Well-Being, Economic Well-Being, Social Well-Being, Political Well-Being, Environmental Well-Being,  Technological Well-Being, Physical Well-Being, Mental Well-Being, and so on. A happy mind can achieve anything. Happiness is the key to success. In the present paper, the researchers have attempted to invent a model of Well-Being, i.e., PREMATHO. It is an advanced model of the PERMA model of Well-Being.

 Introduction:

Many of us strive to be our most productive and fulfilled selves with the help of advanced knowledge and technology. But, having advanced knowledge and technology is insufficient to be happy. Happiness is the key to success and development. Education is the key to development. Education and Development are two sides of the same coin. Many research findings say that highly educated people are not more productive, but highly happiest people are more effective, and their life span is also more. In general, people follow their lifestyles to lead their lives. Ikigai, Hygge, Lagom and Ubuntu are a few lifestyle concepts.

Learning is a continuous process. Research and Development (R&D) always go parallelly. The researchers have enormous knowledge in the field of Education, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and Technology. The researchers have tried to develop a model of well-being, i.e., PREMATHO. The acronym of PREMATHO is Positive Emotions, Relations, Engagement, Mindfulness, Accomplishment, Truthfulness, Heartfulness, and Open Minded. Abraham Maslow (1962) was one of the first psychologists to describe ‘wellbeing’, his characteristics of a self-actualized person. Seligman (2012) developed a Well-Being Through (WBT) with five elements, i.e., PERMA (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishments). The PREMATHO: A Model of Well-Being is the advanced model of Seligman.

 PREMATHO-A Model of Well-Being

A happy mind can achieve anything. Happiness is the key to success.

The first sweetest world in the world is Mother. Love is the most precious feeling in living beings. The most adorable thing in the life of a human being is getting unconditional and priceless ‘Mother’s Love’. It is possible to get anything from any person through Love. A trusted person always gets a reward and honour in the society. According to Mahatma Gandhi ‘Truth is God’.  The 3 Transcendentals: Truth, God, and Beauty are essential for all individuals in the society for a happy and healthy life. Truthfulness always protects not only an individual but also his/her near and dear. Truthfulness is one of the keys to well-beings.

5 Ls (Like, Love, Learn, Leave, and Live) Model of Education

Abstract:

Education is a key to development. Education and Development are two sides of the same coin. According to UNESCO, the four pillars of education are Learning to Be, Learning to Know, Learning to Do and Learning to Live Together. The four main foundations of education are Philosophical Foundations of Education, Psychological Foundations of Education, Sociological Foundations of Education, and Technological Foundations of Education (Dr. N.A. Reddy & Dr. S. Gogoi, 2019). Attitude is everything. Readiness is critical to any activity.

We must motivate ourselves to do any activity easily and quickly. It becomes easy to accomplish whenever you like any action/thing/task. Happiness plays a significant role in accomplishment. If you want anything, again and again, it leads to love. According to philosophy love means care in action. It becomes easy to accomplish whenever you love any activity/task/action. For successful accomplishments, you need continuous learning. We can say it learn, relearn and unlearn. At the same time, we must leave unwanted things and unnecessary things. To live happily, we need to cross these four levels, i.e., Like, Love, Learn and Leave. The researchers have developed the 5 L’s Model of Education for a happy and healthy life by keeping all the above in mind. The 5 Ls are Like, Love, Learn, Leave, and Live. In the present paper, the researchers have attempted to develop a model of education for a happy and healthy life, i.e., the 5 Ls Model of Education.

Keywords: Like, Love, Learn, Leave, Live, Happy and Healthy Life.

Introduction:

The COVID-19 pandemic showed a new path for learning continuously. Education is a key to development. If you give wealth to anyone, there may be a chance to lose it at any time. If you provide education to anyone, no one can take away from it from them. That is why everyone in this world tries to become educated. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a significant role in providing education for all. At the same time, an individual readiness, attitude, intelligence, heredity, environment, friends, family and so on play a significant role in life. In this world, everyone tries to lead a life happily forever. Education and Development are two sides of the same coin. The Government, Non-governmental organisations and parents, are always trying their best to provide quality education. There are a good number of models of teaching/education.

The researchers have enormous knowledge in the field of Education, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and Technology. The researchers have tried to develop a model, i.e., the 5 Ls Model of Education. The five Ls are Like, Love, Learn, Leave, and Live. These five Ls are very important for a happy and healthy life. According to Lord Buddha thoughtless mind is essential for a peaceful and happy life. This model explains a way to a happy and healthy life through the 5 Ls.

5 Ls Model of Education:

Education is essential for each and everyone in the present society. In many schools and colleges, the student dropout rate is high, varying from time to time and place to place, including the type of institution. The main aim of education is self-realization/self-actualization. Self-care, self-interest, self-motivation, self-training, self-development, self-planning, and self-evaluation play a crucial role in individual and social development. There are many ways/approaches to providing education.  Providing quality education is very important in society. The lifestyles and needs of an individual and community change quickly from time to time. People expect a lot from educational institutions and research institutions. The researchers have invented an innovative idea, i.e., the 5 Ls (Like, Love, Learn, Leave and Live) Model of Education to provide education for all.

 1. LIKE

The first stage or step to providing education is ‘Like’. Like (it is a verb) means ‘to feel attraction toward or take pleasure in; to enjoy doing something, or to feel that some or something is pleasant to attractive. It is an individual duty to like education firstly to get an education. Life is the first step to accomplishment in life. Whenever you want to do something, it becomes easy to do any activity related to that person or thing if you like it/him/her/activity. That is why before giving something to someone or asking to do some activity, people always ask, ‘do you like it?’ If the answer is ‘yes’, it becomes accessible/easy to accomplish. If you like something or someone, the difficulties, problems, or burden of a person or thing will become half. So, try to pick whatever you want to accomplish. You can enjoy a person/thing/place/activity with a like mind.

 2. LOVE

The second stage or step to providing education is ‘Love’. According to Osho, “Love is like breathing: when it happens, you love. It does not matter who comes close to you, the sinner or the saint. Whosoever comes close to you starts feeling the vibe of love rejoices. Love is unconditional giving – but only those capable of giving who have”. According to Philosophy, Love means care in action. Mahabharata depicts the desire to love and be loved as the basic instinct of almost all major characters. This love includes all three dimensions of sexual, emotional and spiritual gratification. PREMA (in the Telugu language) means love. The acronym of PREMA is Positive Emotions, Relations, Engagement, Mindfulness, and Accomplishment. The accomplishment itself is an integral part of love. There is one saying in the Telugu language, ‘PREMA ichina PREMA vachunu’ in English, ‘If you give love, you will get love’. There is no alternative way to get love; love is the only way. Love is essential to provide education. Whenever you love someone or something, he/she/it never becomes a difficult or a burden.

 3. LEARN

The third stage or step to providing education is Lear/Learning. Learning is a continuous process. Lifelong learning is essential for a happy and healthy life. If you get wealth, there may be a chance to lose it at any time or place. Education is robust, and no one can take it away from you. Learning occurs in three ways: Formal Learning, Non-formal Learning and In-formal Learning. You can learn from anyone, anyplace and anything (Ubiquitous Learning). An individual can know in many ways: Social Learning, Project-based Learning, Online Learning, e-Learning, Digital Learning, Personalized Learning, Hybrid Learning, Blended Learning, Flipped Learning, Problem-based Learning, Place-based Learning, and so on. There are different kinds of models of learning. There are a good number of innovative approaches to learning. There are four main foundations of learning: Philosophical Foundations of Learning, Psychological Foundations of Learning, Sociological Foundations of Learning, and Technological Foundations of Learning. According to UNESCO, the four pillars of education are Learning to Be, Learning to Know, Learning to Do, and Learning to Live Together.

 4. LEAVE

The fourth stage or step to providing education is Leave. It is always good to leave the negative things. According to Lord Buddha, running away from negative people or places is always good. Many people waste their valuable time by concentrating on unnecessary and unwanted things. It is always better to make a plan before going to do anything. It is good to keep away from negative thoughts. Attitude is everything. Try to leave negative thoughts or ideas in your mind. Try to think innovatively. The thousand miles journey starts with the first step. Going negative thoughts is the first step to accomplishing anything in life. Leaving negative thoughts is half-success. Maximum people are worried because of unnecessary and unwanted thoughts only. Positive psychology has a pivotal role in success. No need to change by yourself; try to change the way of your think only.

 5. LIVE

The final and fifth stage or step to providing education is Live. Many people are not aware of the art of living. Our ancestors showed many good paths for happy and healthy living. Yoga means to yoke, to join, to unite. Chitta vritti nirodha refers to calming the mind through the meditative techniques of Patanjali Yoga. The Mahabharata, Ramayana, Vedas and Puranas show the right path of living.  Living as Learning is a passionate and rewarding dialogue on the legacy of the great American philosophy and educator John Dewey (1859-1952).

 Conclusion:

Everyone in this world tries to lead a life happily. Happiness is half strength. We will get everything through education. Getting a free education is the right of a child. We must provide a quality education for all. The 5 Ls (Like, Love, Learn, Leave and Live) Model of Education is beneficial for an individual to provide education for themself. The researchers have a strong feeling and confidence in the model that it will undoubtedly impact the lifestyles of individuals. Everything is in your hand only. The first step of the journey is crucial. Live and love your profession. Try to learn continuously and leave negative thoughts. Be aware of the art of living and try to live happily forever. Please remember ‘Education is Everything’. We wish you a bright future through education.
